Policies & Procedures

Information about all of our policies and procedures when it comes to fees, funding, refunds and special rates.

Funding

Recreation and Community Education programs are fee-based, as we are self-supporting.

Classes that do not meet the minimum enrollment requirements will be canceled. Please register early to avoid cancellations and missing out on enriching programming.

Refunds

Refunds related to COVID-19: Due to the large scale cancellations happening due to the COVID-19 virus, there will be a processing fee to cover the costs we incur from the credit card companies and the registration system for each transaction.  We have the ability to put the balance as a credit on account for our customers and will be offering that as the first option and no fee will be charged for a credit on account. This credit on account may be used for any future registration and will be automatically deducted at the time of checkout.

A full refund will be granted for all programs canceled. If a class is adjusted as to time, date or location by the Department and you cannot attend, a full refund will be issued. Enrollee-requested refunds requested before the first class will be assessed a $10 service fee, unless otherwise noted. A refund requested after the first class and before the second class will be pro-rated and assessed a $10 service fee.

Refunds WILL NOT be allowed after the SECOND class has been held, regardless of attendance. Refunds are not issued for 1 and 2 day classes.

Substitution of participants is NOT allowed. Many Sports Leagues have different refund procedures. Please contact the league manager to inquire about sport league refunds, or refer to the printed policy at time of Registration.

Returned Checks

If you request a return of check, a charge of $25 will be assessed for returned payment.

Senior Citizen Rate

Residents of the Huron Valley School District who are 60 and over may enroll in select Recreation and Community Education classes for 50% off the listed tuition cost. If discount is allowed, it will be deducted at checkout.

Reduced rates do not apply to materials or books.

I voluntarily agree to assume all risks and accept as my sole responsibility any injury to myself(including, but not limited to, personal injury, disability, and/or death), illness, damage, loss, claim, liability, or expense, of any kind, that I may experience or incur in connection with my participation or attendance at any HV Rec and Ed event. On my behalf, and on behalf of my heirs, I hereby release, covenant not to sue, discharge, and hold harmless HV Rec and Ed, , its directors, organizers, coaches, sponsors, manager, attorneys, employees, or any other appointed supervisor from such, including all liabilities, actions, damages, or expenses of any type that may arise out of, or relating thereto attendance and participation. I understand and agree that this release includes any claims regarding the actions, omissions, or negligence of HV Rec and Ed, its directors, organizers, coaches, sponsors, manager, attorneys, employees, or any other appointed supervisor, whether a COVID-19 infection occurs before, during, or after participation or attendance at any HV Rec and Ed event.
