Return to School 2020-21

Dear HVS families,

Our Return to School Committee has been busy creating plans and options that will provide educational excellence for all students, whether families choose face-to-face learning or an online experience with our Virtual Academy when we head back to school this fall.

While the safety and wellbeing of our staff and students is a top priority, we know nothing can replace face-to-face learning. Students learn best when they attend school with peers and have the support of highly qualified and caring teachers. Our plan for in-person learning will meet the academic and social/emotional needs of our students while also following safety guidance from the Governor’s Office, the Michigan Department of Education and local health experts.

Our Huron Valley Virtual Academy will also offer a robust academic experience. The HVVA will differ significantly from the virtual experience we offered this past spring and will be taught by HVS teachers using an HVS curriculum.

For certain, the 2020-21 school year will look different than anything any of us have ever experienced. Yet I am confident that together we will provide our students with a positive and robust educational experience in the year ahead.

Sincerely,
Dr. Paul Salah, Superintendent
