College Night 2016 : Join us on October 5th, 2016 from 6:30-8:00pm in the Auxiliary Gym at Milford High School for College Night. There will be representatives from colleges, universities, community colleges, vocational schools, financial aid institutions, and the military. This is a great opportunity for parents and students to learn about many different post-secondary options at one time.
- Easy Registration for College Info : Instead of waiting in line and filling out a postcard with all of your personal information at each both, register online and bring your student barcode with you. College reps will scan your barcode to instantly receive your contact information in order to send you more information about their school.
Participating Organizations : More may still be added prior to the event, though this is who is coming thus far.
Career Cruising : Every year, students of all grade levels will need to update their Educational Development Plans (E.D.P.) through Career Cruising. This is also a great website to use in exploring career and education options on your own. Students can do some general exploration with the username: "lakeland" and password: "cruising". To access their E.D.P. outside of school, students can get their personal Career Cruising login information from the Career Center.
- For students applying to the Oakland Schools Technical Campus, you will need to hand in an updated E.D.P. with your O.S.T.C. application. Mrs. Ouellette can help you to update or print your E.D.P.
2016-2017 College Visits : College representatives visit Lakeland High School throughout the year. All students are welcome to sign up to attend these sessions.
Peer Tutoring : National Honor Society students are available for peer tutoring support in the Career Center. Tutoring is available Mondays and Wednesdays after school and Wednesdays during seminar. Students are welcome to drop in for any tutoring session, no sign-up is required.
A.S.V.A.B. Test : The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery was originally designed to predict future academic and occupational success in military occupations. The A.S.V.A.B. now incorporates a career exploration and planning program that uses your A.S.V.A.B. results to help explore the world of work. A.S.V.A.B. testing information will be made available during the school year.
