The Drama Department at LHS is focused on giving students the opportunity, knowledge, and skills gained from being involved in the Performing Arts. Students currently have three options to be involved in the Drama Department - participating in a production (Fall Play or Spring Musical), being a member of after-school Drama Club, or taking a Drama class during the school year.
Some skills students gain in the theatrical world include the following: analysis of character, expressing character development in acting, collaborating as part of a technical production team (directing, stage managing, lighting, etc.), creating drama scripts, and using different acting methods.
Being involved in the Drama Department, students can expect to experience skill sets they can apply throughout their life. Teamwork, accountability, confidence, initiative, maturity, and lasting friendships are all things that Drama Department students can hope to build on throughout their participation in the program.
