POTTERY

Grade Level: 9,10,11,12
Prerequisite: Design

All Pottery classes are operated with a studio atmosphere. Most of the student’s time will be spent learning by doing.  Instruction will be offered in basic potter’s wheel techniques and hand building methods including pinch, coil, slab, press mold and drape. Glazing will be done by pouring, dipping and brushing. Students may be required to do a research project and/or keep a notebook of work completed. Students will have the opportunity to exhibit or sell their work at periodic shows throughout the year. (FEE $20)

ADVANCED POTTERY

Grade Level: 9,10,11,12
Prerequisite: Design, then Pottery, + Instructor Approval

This class is for students who desire to take advanced instruction on the use of a potter’s wheel and hand-building  techniques. Instruction on spraying glazes will be included. Emphasis will be on individual development with more sophisticated ideas. With instructor approval, this course may be repeated for credit. (FEE $20)
