Reminder, May 5 has been scheduled for a statewide election. Since many of our buildings are utilized as polling sites, it was determined that it would be in the best interests of our students, staff and families to change our professional development day from April 29 to May 5. Therefore, students should report for a full day on April 29. Students will not report on May 5.
Students in grades 3 - 8 and 11 will be participating in the brand new Michigan Summative Test of Educational Progress (M-STEP) in April, May and June. This annual assessment is mandated for all children in Michigan public schools and is one of the tools used to measure a student's proficiency in specific subject areas...
The Huron Valley Schools Board of Education voted unanimously at its February 9 meeting to ask voters to approve a 2.5 mill Building & Site Sinking Fund millage for a 10-year period in an effort to continue executing the district's long-range facilities plan.
Beginning February 2, 2015 and continuing through September 4, 2015, Huron Valley Schools will accept applications for Schools of Choice for grades K—9 for the 2015-2016 school year with the exception of Country Oaks and Heritage Elementaries.
Because hunger doesn't take a break on the weekend, the White Lake Optimist Club has undertaken the Blessings in a Backpack program in Huron Valley Schools. The first school in the program is Brooks Elementary. Donations to the Huron Valley program can be made at www.nwcommunityfoundation.org.
