3rd Grade Reading Legislation On October 6, 2016, Michigan became the 37th state to adopt third grade reading legislation when Governor Rick Snyder signed Public Act 306 into law. Public Act 306 of 2016 (now referred to as MCL 380.1280f) requires all 3rd Grade students not scoring proficient on the 3rd Grade state summative assessment be retained.

School Age Care School Age Care is an extended day program located in each elementary building for school-aged students in Kindergarten through 5th grade, before and/or after the regular school day.
Junior Kindergarten Huron Valley Schools is offering Junior Kindergarten for the 2018-2019 school year. This program is designed for students who would benefit from a two-year kindergarten experience. The district will host a parent information night on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Oak Valley Middle School beginning at 7 p.m.
