Huron Valley Schools , Inspiring and building futures...One student at a time.
The mission of Johnson Elementary is to educate all students by establishing high standards of learning.
The staff at Johnson Elementary participated in learning Dr. Covey's 7 Habits of Highly Effective People during their summer vacation. We are very excited to implement the Leader In Me program this fall at Johnson.
Your students will be taught the 7 Habits:
Habit 1 Be Proactive
Habit 2 Begin With the End in Mind
Habit 3 Put First Things First
Habit 4 Think Win-Win
Habit 5 Seek First to Understand,
Then to Be Understood
Habit 6 Synergize
Habit 7 Sharpen the Saw
One of the many positive qualities of becoming a Leader in Me School, is that every family becomes a partner of the school and their child's education, by way of using the 7 Habits and student use of data notebooks. Additionally, improved student achievement, more meaningful parent-to-school connections, increased self-esteem and the empowerment of student leadership, are leading outcomes as evidenced by the results of Leader in Me, Schools and Johnson Elementary is looking forward to what is to come!
If you need us to distribute prescription medications or over the counter medicine, please bring the medicine to the office in the original container. (Children cannot transport medication). You will also need to fill out a medication form giving us permission to administer the medication and listing any special conditions and side effects. We will have to have a signature on our form from your doctor. No medications will be given without a Doctor's signature. Forms are available in the office.
COUGH DROPS ARE CONSIDERED MEDICATION

MWEA/MAP testing is complete for grades 1-5 and scores are now uploaded for parents to view in family access beginning November 1st. Kindergarten students will be assessed in an auditory, online fashion in January. All K-5 studetns will then be assessed in the spring so we have growth results from fall to spring.
