2013 - 2014 POINTS OF PRIDE:

  • Certified Leader in Me, Covey School
  • 2nd Grade MEAP reading scores improved 10 points from prior year
  • 3rd grade MEAP reading scores are above the state and county levels, and increased 10.2 points from prior year
  • 3rd grade mean scaled MEAP reading scores are the highest in the district  
  • 4th grade math MEAP scores greater than the state and 9.5% improvement  from 2011-2012 scores.  4th grade females reading scores ourperformed the state and district
  • 75th of 5th grade maintained or imporved MEAP scores in math and reading



If you need us to distribute prescription medications or over the counter medicine, please bring the medicine to the office in the original container. (Children cannot transport medication). You will also need to fill out a medication form giving us permission to administer the medication and listing any special conditions and side effects. We will have to have a signature on our form from your doctor. No medications will be given without a Doctor's signature. Forms are available in the office.

The MHS and LHS Equestrian Teams placed first and second respectively at the Region B Competition. Both teams advance to the state Competition the second week in October in Midland, Michigan. Way to go Huron Valley!

MLK Day, Art Writing and Multimedia Contest

Compost an origianl song or create your own interpretationin any medium, (drawing, paint, collage, digital art, etc.) of a song or musician associated with freedom, equality or civil rights.  Register for the contest at Deadline is Friday, January 9th.   Prizes will be awarded in three age groups.  Mark your calendar to join us for the March on Main Street, Sunday, January 18th at 1:00 PM.

P.T.A. Meeting Nov. 13, 6:30

Please join us on November 14, for an evening P.T.A. Meeting.  This meeting will start at 6:30.  Hope to see you there.

Vision & Hearing Testing

Children in grades 1st, 3rd and 5th will have their vision tested November 13, 14, and 17th.  All kindergarten 2nd and 4th grade students will have their hearing tested during the day  on January 30, February 2nd,or 3rd.

Fall Festival

Please join us on October 31, and  partiipate in our  annual Fall Festival Parade to the fire station.  Weather permitting, we hope to have a parade to the fire station then walk back to Johnson Elementary.  We will  hear a safety presentation offered by a Police Officer and Firefighter in the morning before our walk.    Don't forget that all children participating need to have a signed permission slip on file in the office before they can leave our school campus.

Picture Retake Day

Picture retake day is November 6, 2014.  If your child was absent on picture day or if you are not satisfied with your child's photos, please plan on having your child have their photo taken.
