Lakeland High School teacher Nick Peruski was the recipient last week of a prestigious national award and an unrestricted $25,000 cash prize from the Milken Family Foundation.
It’s beginning to look – and feel – a lot like Christmas around Huron Valley as HVS staff and students put final touches on three long-running programs aimed at making the holidays happier for local families.

Last year, HVS initiated a partnership with SafeStop, a school bus tracking app designed to allow parents to know when their children would be picked up and dropped off by the bus.
It’s been a busy start to the school year! I’ve had the opportunity to be in each of our schools at least twice and I continue to be awed by the high level of teaching and learning occurring in our classrooms.
Every student at three HVS schools – Highland Elementary, Oxbow Elementary and Harbor High School – now has access to free breakfast every day.
Huron Valley Schools has been closely following the situation regarding Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE).
