District News & Announcements
As week two of our mandatory school closures comes to an end, I wanted to take this opportunity to update you on several important matters.
As the school district continues to comply with the governor’s orders related to closure of all K-12 schools in the state, our staff is working diligently to maintain basic services in the areas of food service and student engagement. It goes without saying that our day-to-day reality has changed so dramatically that it is impossible to predict the next government action that will occur in order to slow the infection rate of COVID-19.
I have had some inquiries related to Huron Valley Schools’ plan for student engagement during this extended period of closure in response to the spread of COVID-19. In previous communications I’ve emphasized that HVS is focused upon keeping students engaged while not formally continuing the curriculum pacing and standards mastery.
I wanted to reach out once again to clarify and emphasize important information from HVS. As we navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, we are learning to appreciate the small things, such as staying home, cooking our own meals and spending time with those closest to us.
Coronavirus (COVID-19) is creating a new normal for Michigan’s places of learning, including Huron Valley Schools. We know you have a number of questions and concerns as we navigate the landscape together...

The International Academy Joint Steering Committee meeting scheduled for March 11 hs been canceled due to scheduling conflicts.
Huron Valley Schools continues to monitor the evolving Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation in Michigan, the U.S. and throughout the world.
Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer has declared a State of Emergency and health officials are warning more confirmed cases are likely throughout the state. The Governor’s office has also provided information regarding large events and gatherings that we will use to inform our decision making.
