Learning Environment/Culture:

Goal Statement: Huron Valley Schools will promote a culture of collaboration for the benefit of students, staff and the community.

Year II Objectives:

  • Develop and implement a plan to increase the district wide use of the Kagan Cooperative Learning Strategies
  • Increase active learning environments
  • Enhance Safety and Security
  • Develop and implement a plan that increases the positive connectivity of every student  to school
  • Enhance the Caring Community Framework
Operations:

Goal Statement: Huron Valley Schools will maximize finances to improve district operations.

Year II Objectives:

  • Develop and implement a Bond/BSSF Plan that includes a timeline with specific objectives
  • Implement a plan to decrease the structural deficit and maximize funding • Expand legislative advocacy
Academics/Programs:

Goal Statement: Huron Valley Schools will continually evaluate current programming and course delivery to provide relevant and enhanced learning experiences for all students.

Year II Objectives:

  • Develop and implement a plan to consistently develop the six C’s in every classroom
  • Develop and implement a plan to increase student attendance  
  • Complete the Year Two Objectives of both the Early Childhood and Secondary Task Forces
  • Develop and utilize data protocols district-wide  
  • Enhance the quality systems of learning
Personnel/Leadership:

Goal Statement: Huron Valley Schools will recruit and retain a diverse, high-quality staff through motivated and inspirational leadership.

Year II Objectives:

  • Develop and implement a plan to make the evaluation process more meaningful and manageable  
  • Create a new student growth model to align with the State’s 40% requirement
  • Enhance the OneHVS framework
  • Improve the Commitment to Collaboration framework  
  • Develop and implement a plan to recruit critical shortage teachers to the district
Communications/Community Engagement:

Goal Statement: Huron Valley Schools will educate and engage our community starting at a grass roots level.

Year II Objectives:

  • Implement a district-wide notification system for deficit accounts
  • Enhance marketing and communication  
  • Develop and implement a plan to increase student enrollment
  • Strengthen partnerships with retirees and senior citizens
  • Enhance business partnerships through the fund development structure
