Huron Valley Schools... inspiring and building futures, one student at a time.
Huron Valley Schools believes that students have the right to pursue their education and develop their potential in a positive learning environment. The effective school setting is the result of strong leadership, high expectations, and a clear definition of purpose understood and supported by students, staff, parents* and the community. The purpose of the Code of Conduct is to define those behaviors necessary for a productive learning environment. The Code explains the rights and responsibilities of students. It defines offenses and standardizes disciplinary procedures for students who violate the Code. The provisions in the Code apply to all students in Huron Valley elementary and secondary schools. Designing a blueprint for success is the impetus behind the Huron Valley Schools Strategic Plan. We recently completed phase II, a 5-year plan and are embarking on Phase III. The Strategic Planning Team, comprised of community members, Board of Education members, Huron Valley staff and parents, recently met to develop a belief statements, a mission statement, objectives and strategies to provide a purpose, focus and direction for Huron Valley Schools.

The District will follow the Oakland County Health Department and Centers for Disease Control guidelines for schools as they relate to the H1N1 flu. One specific guideline we will follow is to require students and staff exhibiting flu-like symptoms or having a fever to stay home until they are fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medicines.
