There are 9 elementary schools, three middle schools and three high schools (including an alternative high school) in the District. We are also host to the International Academy West campus located at Lakeland High School. In addition to the regular program, Huron Valley Schools offers educational alternatives and supplemental programs for special needs students.
The pupil/teacher ratio is 18:1 and 60 percent of our teachers hold advanced degrees. All HVS teachers are highly qualified.
Huron Valley students consistently score above state, and in several areas, county averages on the MEAP tests. In 2008, two students were named National Merit Finalists (top 1% nationally). Additionally, 87% of our graduates pursue a higher education.
Our music programs, robotics teams, sports teams and extracurricular teams consistently receive state and national recognition.

The Huron Valley District covers 107 square miles encompassing the townships of Commerce, Highland, Milford, White Lake and the Village of Milford. The District ranks 6th out of 28 Oakland Districts in the number of students it serves. We employ approximately 600 teachers and over 1,400 staff.
The Huron Valley Schools is part of the Michigan Accreditation Program. All elementary schools are summary accredited. Both Milford and Lakeland High Schools are fully accredited by the North Central Association, as well as Highland, Muir, Oak Valley and White Lake Middle Schools.
